How Does A Refrigerator Work?

By -

By understanding the basics of how a refrigerator works we can make sure to keep them well maintained and operating efficiently. The video points out the critical components of refrigeration cycle including the unique thermal properties of the refrigerant and the condenser coils. At the condenser coils the refrigerant is condensed to a hot liquid and a fan helps to remove the heat from the system. This location may collect dust and hair over time which restricts its ability to efficiently dissipate heat from the system. This causes the unit to work harder to cool the interior of the fridge. Airflow is vital to the refrigeration unit. We need to make sure the front, rear, and bottom of the refrigerator has enough room so that the heat can dissipate and be replenished with cool fresh air to keep the cycle going smoothly.
